Last month, A2 had the privilege to sponsor the design and planning of MPI SFL's annual installation and awards. When Patrick Brochu of Media Stage mentioned the idea, we jumped at the chance since he is the new MPI SFL chapter President. We knew we had to support him and the entire BOD by serving to co-chair the event. Our whole team worked tirelessly to recruit sponsors and make it all fabulous.
When we did our first walkthrough of the Historic Alfred I. duPont building, we knew we had the opportunity to create something beautiful & unique without going the standard 'Casino Royale' route that so many events in that building use. Inspired by the secrecy of the vault and the beautiful gold floral details on the gates & elevators, we decided that 'The Secret Garden' would be a perfect concept to use as inspiration!
Patrick and Jeff Gold, our co-chair, were on board with the idea and so the planning (or if we're being real, the begging for favors) began. We started by outlining sponsors who had inventory that fit the theme. The DuPont building had already signed on, but we needed everything else from catering to tables and linens, to chairs and flatware and even entertainment. Thankfully, so many of our industry friends answered the call. Here's how it all came together...
The night started with a cocktail hour, and we had so much fun using the former bank teller windows to serve Peacock's Pantry's signature cocktail, a Strawberry Basil Paloma. They provided delicious passed apps & there was plenty of luxe, suede seating & gilded tables from AFR! The night began with a fun DJ from Motiv8 Events to get the crowd excited, and a surprise Green Goddess appearance from one of our absolute favorite entertainers, Kamileon Productions.
In the original Vault of the building, we knew we needed we decided to create the Secret Garden itself, with a ton of beautiful plants from Temporary Tropics and video projection of a walk through the forest on the back wall thanks to Media Stage's wonderful AV team. Truluck's was gracious enough to host a tasting table inside that included some of the most delicious tuna tacos we've ever tasted!
Just in front of the vault was a beautiful lounge area courtesy of Bubble. We are so grateful to Gerard Nadeau for designing the space for us, creating a maze to the vault with their beautiful gold dividers, and providing plenty of funky items like the standing chandeliers that completely enhanced the Secret Garden theme! We are obsessed with the English Rose collection and were so happy to be able to incorporate them into this event!
We love any chance to use South Beach Photo's 360 booth, and with a wall of hedges & a 7' tall Lumiere lamp from Bubble, it was a perfect addition to the Soirée! All of Bubble's unique, out-of-the-box pieces that they contributed made this event design truly special.
For the main room, we knew we wanted to create a lot of variety in the tablescapes, so we used a combination of beautiful Over The Top linens in laces, florals & velvet, with a different look on each table style. We put together Panache's rustic farm tables along with their beautiful flatware, chairs and multiple styles of floral inspired china to create long, dramatic tables that contrasted with gold chairs. Each table style had a different chair, floral centerpiece by Bloom Floral Co. & Alexandra Marciello Events, and gorgeous charger plates that looked perfect for the Garden theme, all thanks to Panache! The white wooden bars provided by Elements & Accents also tied into the theme.
The room was beautifully lit by Media Stage, who blew us away with their ability to video map vines growing up the columns in the room! We love not only the incredible work that Media Stage always does, but also the team of fun and talented people who work there. They didn't disappoint this time either, every single case that they brought had a picture of Patrick's face on it in honor of his new role as MPI SFL president. We love their sense of humor!
Peacock's also provided an incredible dinner, including their gorgeous signature grazing table, which is just as fun to look at as it is to eat! Danielle & Michelle aka the Peacock's girls were onsite overseeing everything to make sure it was perfection. We're still craving the cacio & pepe pasta station from the evening.
Frost 321 concocted delicious desserts for the Secret Garden theme, including a honey & lavender ice cream. Motiv8 blew us away with their band selection, hybrid, who put on a killer performance! We loved the surprise appearance of their disco heads & boom box entertainers after the awards & installation of the new board as well.
We are so grateful to have partnered with the Brightline & Infinity Transportation, who offered us discounted rates to take the train down to Miami with a champagne toast, and free shuttles to & from the station to the duPont! And of course, we have our wonderful photographers to thank from Christie's Photographic Solutions & Motiv8 Events, who captured all of the beautiful pictures you see above.
The night was filled with fun, dancing & awards. Our guests at the A2 table got a special goodie bag and our own Boss Lady, Erin Branham won the "Industry Influencer" award - she says there's no way she could do it without us. #ProudTeam + #ProudBoss. It was an amazing night for our team!
We had an absolute blast getting to dream up the Secret Soirée and bring it to life with the support of all the sponsors. We loved getting to bring our new & out of the box ideas to this annual event!
